FIRE SAFETY TRAINING

Fire Safety Training For Businesses & Organisations

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 it is a legal requirement that all employers / responsible persons ensure that all employees are provided with adequate fire safety training. There is no difference between Marshal & Warden, both are frequently used to describe the same role they undertake, it’s the same meaning, different word. You should have a fire warden in your workplace for every 50 people. Other spaces may be found to be at a much higher risk of a fire. In such a case, you may require one warden for every 15 to 20 people but review your FRA to help determine the quantity required.

Fire Safety Training Overview

Fire safety is a fundamental part of any business and training is the cornerstone of implementing any fire safety policy. Legislation via the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires employers to provide training for all employees in actions to be taken in the event of a fire. This training can range from basic fire safety awareness, to the practical use of fire extinguishers and the management of a fire situation with Fire Warden Training. This course is aimed at all staff within an organisation.

Fire Warden Training

This course is for up to 15 people per session and will be delivered in approximately 3 hours. It will give your staff an understanding of fire legislation along with the specific duties of a Fire Warden, greater awareness of the hazards presented by a fire, and increase their knowledge in practical fire safety measures.

Following on from a recent news item by SS Systems on council CCTV systems, another local authority has been in the news regarding the effectiveness of closed circuit television systems. Eastleigh Council has recently reviewed its aging CCTV system amid cost and effectiveness concerns. Eastleigh Borough Council's public realm Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system was viewed to be no longer meeting modern standards, offering "limited public protection" and being unsustainable to operate, according to a report presented to local authority councillors. The report concluded that the current system requires decommissioning due to its outdated technology and high operating costs.
