SS Systems is extremely excited to announce that it has become one of only five suppliers in the UK awarded a position on the Fire Safety Framework of the National Housing Consortium’s procurement system.

Consortium Procurement is the procurement arm of the Northern Housing Consortium, and has been supporting members to procure compliantly for over 20 years. Consortium Procurement has achieved tremendous success in developing its range of services and growing their offer to members across the UK. They currently support the procurement needs of more than 300 member organisations, offering 12 live framework agreements, as well as a bespoke procurement service.

The Consortium Procurement framework offers a range of services to local authorities (including Barnsley, Calderdale, Doncaster, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield, Rotherham, Sheffield and York in our local area), housing associations, charities, schools and other organisations to provide them with the facility which will not only make purchasing easier, but will also help them to save money.

In February 2018 it launched its Fire Safety Framework. The framework provides for the design, supply, install, certification and maintenance of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, water mist systems, dry and wet risers, fire compartmentalisation, emergency lighting systems and fire fighting equipment; as well as the provision of fire risk assessments, fire safety training and consultancy.

Rachel Wheeler, Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer said:

“We listened to our members and saw the need to expand the current fire safety offering and to support our members in procuring their fire safety requirements in an easy, open and transparent way. I believe this new framework will be of a great benefit to our members, offering them a choice of quality suppliers to enable them to comply with the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order, as well as providing value for money.”

Andrew Stokes, MD of SS Systems said, “This has the potential to be extremely beneficial to our company and could contribute significantly to our growth plans over the next three years. We are extremely pleased with the result. It took a great deal of work to secure the contract, having recruited the services of Win SME Contracts. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Nick Jones and the team here at SS Systems for all the effort they put into getting this win for us.”
